'Newsletter' August 2010
Federal Election Day Saturday 21st August 2010
We are in full swing with our
Election Campaign The Official Launch will be next
Saturday July 31st
as reported in my last Newsletter. This launch has been advertised in the
Cranbourne Frankston and Mordialloc Chelsea Leader Newspapers.
The Launch, is to be held at the A T Niemann Community Hall Baxter Ave Chelsea. Starting at 2.00 p.m
A raffle has been organised as a fundraiser to assist in the offsetting of costs for this meeting.
1st Prize is a beautifully presented hamper full of
wonderful goodies, donated by Ros & Dale Townsend and Dale’s Mum, Dot.
2nd Prize is a money tree. This is to be a Xmas
tree decorated with $50.00 worth of scratchies..
This was donated by our new
Interim Vice President Michael Lenz.
3rd Prize is a 6 pack and a bottle of wine donated by our State President John Groves.
(pictured at left)We thank these people for their generosity in making these donations.
This might be an incentive for you to come along and support our Candidates.
Our Senate Candidates are working tirelessly. They will be doing the first of their "Meet and Greets" in Ballarat on Saturday 7th August at the Bridge Mall between 10 & 12 noon.
This will be followed by Traralgon on Saturday 14th
at the Traralgon Plaza from 10a.m.to 12 noon
Both of these meets will be advertised in the relevant Newspapers in Ballarat and the Latrobe Valley.
As you will see on the attached, revised Resume, Rosalyn Townsend is No 1 on the Senate Ticket.
This is the first time we have had a husband and wife Senate team.
To save on the cost of printing. which is being done by a local printer, it was necessary to combine Rosalyn and Dale’s Resumes into one format. On the back of this will be a spiel on One Nation. This will be for the Candidates to hand out at the "Meet & Greets" and other various venues e.g. Railways Stations.
We are calling for volunteers to man booths on Election day. If you can help please contact me.
An advertisement is being prepared by the State Executive to be placed in the Herald Sun on Wednesday August 11th followed by another on Wednesday August 18th.
The August 18th one will most likely be our "How to Vote" card. Our preferences will be distributed among other minor Parties including Family First, DLP & Climate Sceptics. The Major Parties and the Greens will be at the bottom.
These advertisement are costing the Party several thousand dollars. We know from past experience that paid advertising is the only way to get the message out.
If you can manage a donation, even a few dollars helps. Or perhaps some stamps which are always welcome
Remember to VOTE
1. For ONE NATION above the line on the Senate formThis will give you all a chance to Vote One Nation to help get our Candidates into Parliament.
REMINDER
Membership Renewals were sent out with my June Newsletter. There are still some outstanding Renewals to come in. Remember we do value our Members.
As I reported in my last Newsletter Helen Hilton is experiencing bad health. I asked that you pray for her. Speaking to Helen this morning she tells me that she is picking up on your prayers. Who knows, they just might help her beat this terrible disease.
Anyone watching the debate on T.V. last Sunday night will have seen that neither of the major Parties have much credibility. Most feel that the Libs came out ahead but there was little conviction in the message that either tried to put across.
Perhaps this will give the minor Parties a better chance!!
We look forward to seeing you at the Campaign Launch .
Come along and meet our Candidates.
Until next time
My Best Regards to All
